Heat & Work 4.2

Heat & Work is an educational application designed to support high school and university courses in thermodynamics. It offers a comprehensive overview that includes essential equations as well as a variety of animations intended to clarify key concepts within the field.

The application features over 45 screens dedicated to thermodynamics topics, providing a substantial resource for learning and review.

For educators, it offers practical functionality: by connecting an iPad to a video projector, instructors can effectively display animations directly in the classroom, facilitating visual understanding for students.

The coverage includes several fundamental subjects: definitions, properties of substances and ideal gases, the first law of thermodynamics focusing on work and heat transfer, and flow applications. It also explores the second law—covering heat engines, refrigerators, entropy, and the Carnot cycle. Furthermore, it provides detailed explanations of real-world cycles such as the Rankine cycle, ideal refrigerator cycle, Otto cycle, and Diesel cycle.

Each section includes at least one animation or illustrative diagram to enhance comprehension and engagement.
